Our Factory’s Story
In November 2003, Maverick proudly launched its first boat, becoming Central America’s only boat-building factory. Five years later, we opened our current 69,500-square-foot facility, home to our factory and supply store. This location is where our expert teams of carpenters, welders, painters, electricians, and installers create our legendary cold-molded, solid Laurel Blanco hull sportfishing yachts. It's here where artisans train under the best international standards so they can proudly build the best sportfishing yachts in the market. It’s here where we pour our expertise, passion, and love of fishing into a one-of-a-kind design built for you.
Designing Your Ultimate Sportfishing Yacht
The first step of your journey is connecting with our team. From there we’ll send you more information to help you get a better picture of what you’re looking for in a yacht. If you haven’t had the chance to go on a Maverick Costa Rica sportfishing trip, now would be a great time to book one. We then set up a consultation to deep dive into exactly what you’re looking for and review your customization options. Once our naval architect signs off and we have an approved design, your yacht is ready for the build phase. Crafting your custom yacht typically takes between 12-18 months. During this process, we’ll be sending you regular updates on the status of your craft. Your completed yacht is then shipped to wherever you want in the world or we can find a slip in a local marina so you can come enjoy your Maverick in Costa Rica whenever you like.

The yacht-building team is composed of talented craftsmen who have used their skills, honed by generations of furniture building and other fine woodwork, to create yachts that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. Some of our senior team have been building cold molded fishing boats in Costa Rica for decades. When it comes to building the highest quality sportfishing yachts, there is no other team up for the task.
