Meet Antonio “Pato” Aguirre, a Mate here at Maverick Costa Rica!

What is your name?
Antonio Aguirre, but around here everyone calls me Pato. 

What is your position in the company? 
Mate

What do you like most about your job?
Probably the camaraderie. We are a very tight group and that makes working here a lot of fun. I really do look forward to coming here each day. 

What challenges have you faced in this job?
None really. Everyone on the team here makes it easy to learn and do a great job.

What do you think is the most important skill a successful professional in your field must have? 
I would say the ability to be a team player. You’ve got to be willing to help one another out and work toward success together. It’s that sense of teamwork that makes Maverick special. 

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Fishing! On the job and off, I’m thinking about fishing. 

Describe an interesting hobby or pastime you have: 
I’d have to say fishing again. 

What is a dream you want to make come true someday?
I don't know yet. Being at Maverick, learning about the industry and being around passionate people is my goal for right now. 

What is something surprising that not many people know about you? 
That I’m only 23 years old. But I like to think my fishing knowledge far exceeds my age. 

When did you first know you wanted to pursue this?
Since the first time I went fishing. Fishing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and I can’t imagine my life without it. There’s nothing better than a day spent fishing. 

What value have you added to this team that no one else can?
I like to think my sincerity is something special I bring to the team. 

What do you think is the most important skill you bring to the table?
Patience. It’s a very valuable skill to have if you love fishing but it’s also an important skill to have when working with others. 

What is your favorite memory of working at the company?
I can’t really pick just one moment because I love absolutely everything. So, all the moments. 

What do you like most about your job?
The atmosphere and the team. I love working in Maverick, getting to work with incredible people and getting to be around fishing all day is the dream.
